Giorgio Mazzoli

Legal Officer, United Nations

Giorgio Mazzoli serves as legal officer for ADF International in Geneva, where he participates in the triannual UN Human Rights Council meetings.

In this role, he provides Member State representatives with key legal resources and amendatory language that promote religious freedom and the inherent value and dignity of every person.

Prior to joining ADF International, Mazzoli practiced law with a large international firm in Rome, where he focused on transnational contract negotiations, intellectual property, and a wide range of civil and commercial disputes. He also served as a legal fellow with the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN in New York from 2016 to 2017. In that position, he served as a delegate to meetings and consultations at the UN on international peace and security, human rights, and migration, among other issues. He began his work with the Mission through an internship in Geneva where he drafted reports and briefs for the Permanent Observer and key diplomatic staff.

Mazzoli earned his single-cycle master’s degree in law with highest honors from the Sapienza University of Rome in 2016. During his legal studies, he completed a four-week internship with ADF International in Geneva as part of its international law scholarship program.
