Let us work together – for their lives, for their future.
The problem
Every year in India, girls are killed in the womb simply for being girls. Most females in India are considered a burden on their families and have little to no value. The practice of killing girls in the womb is now routine. If they are not aborted, once born, they are subject to various forms of violence. India has lost over 60 million girls and women in the past decade due to the wide spread use of this practice. For every 1000 male births there are only 918 female births. There are 21 million girls unwanted by their family in the country today, according to the 2018 Economic Survey issued by the Indian government.
Stand with us to support the right to life and help end sex selective abortions in India. Our Vanishing Girls campaign is committed to educating about existing laws in place to stop sex selective abortions. With your help, we can provide long-term training and legal help to protect India’s unborn daughters.
