Israel Folau, the recently sacked Australian rugby union star, will not appeal against a disciplinary tribunal decision to uphold the termination of his A$4 million contract. But the saga is not finished as Folau has told Rugby Australia, the governing body, that he will seek alternative legal remedies.
Folau triggered controversy by posting a message on Instagram that stated that “hell awaits” drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters. Rugby Australia’s chief executive, Raelene Castle, said that she was left with “no choice” but to sack Folau.
