El derecho internacional es contundente en la protecci\u00f3n de la vida, especialmente la de los m\u00e1s vulnerables como son las personas mayores, y en Am\u00e9rica Latina no estamos ajenos al peligro de las leyes de <a href=\"https:\/\/adfinternational.org\/resource\/the-legalization-of-euthanasia-and-assisted-suicide\/\">eutanasia y el suicidio asistido<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Como ha evidenciado ya lamentablemente la legalizaci\u00f3n de la eutanasia y el suicidio asistido, en muchos pa\u00edses de Europa y varias otras regiones, ella provoca un aumento progresivo en el n\u00famero de muertos por la aplicaci\u00f3n de estas acciones de muerte, adem\u00e1s de iniciar un proceso de continua liberalizaci\u00f3n de las condiciones para su realizaci\u00f3n. En B\u00e9lgica, por ejemplo, la eutanasia se legaliz\u00f3 en 2002. Luego, en 2014 se ampli\u00f3 el alcance de la ley a los ni\u00f1os, sin l\u00edmite de edad. Entre 2003 y 2018, el n\u00famero de personas que perdieron la vida a trav\u00e9s de la eutanasia aument\u00f3 en m\u00e1s de un 1000%.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-5916e0c-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: var( --e-global-typography-5916e0c-font-size ); font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-5916e0c-font-weight ); letter-spacing: var( --e-global-typography-5916e0c-letter-spacing ); word-spacing: var( --e-global-typography-5916e0c-word-spacing );\">En Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe no estamos ajenos a este flagelo. En distintos pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n estamos enfrentando nuevos proyectos de leyes y pol\u00edticas dirigidas a implantar la eutanasia y el suicidio asistido. No podemos permitir que las personas mayores y vulnerables se sientan como una carga en nuestras sociedades.
