The\u00a0resolution followed the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/adfinternational.org\/news\/top-european-court-takes-up-cases-of-christians-banned-from-turkey\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">European Court of Human Rights\u2019 decision\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">at the beginning of February\u00a0to take up\u00a020\u00a0cases involving\u00a0foreign\u00a0Christians who were expelled or banned from re-entering T\u00fcrkiye<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These cases,\u00a0the majority of which are\u00a0supported by ADF International, stem from the Turkish government\u2019s use of security codes, typically reserved for terrorist activity, to designate peaceful foreign Christian residents as threats to national security and block them from entering or remaining in the country despite longstanding lawful residence.\u00a0The missionaries deported come from\u00a0several\u00a0countries\u00a0across Europe, including the United Kingdom,\u00a0Switzerland,\u00a0and\u00a0Germany.\u00a0More than\u00a0a dozen\u00a0are\u00a0originally\u00a0from the United States.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-383446bc elementor-blockquote--skin-border elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"383446bc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\u201cThe Turkish government\u2019s rejection of the European Parliament\u2019s vote shows a clear lack of respect for its human rights obligations.<span style=\"color: #AF272F\">When a government weaponizes national security mechanisms to target peaceful missionaries and faith communities, they must not be allowed to act with impunity.\u201d<\/span>\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-q-footer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<cite class=\"elementor-blockquote__author\">- Kelsey Zorzi, Director of Global Religious Freedom at ADF International<\/cite>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-265b9a79 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"265b9a79\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">European Parliament addresses expulsion of missionaries<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-722ddbc2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"722ddbc2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0European\u00a0Parliament\u00a0resolution specifically addresses the expulsion of foreign Christian missionaries,\u00a0all legally\u00a0residing\u00a0in the\u00a0T\u00fcrkiye\u00a0and\u00a0many of whom were\u00a0long-term residents\u00a0of the country,\u00a0through security codes that have resulted in deportations, re-entry bans, and loss of residency status. Lawmakers raised concerns about the lack of transparency, limited judicial review, and restricted access to evidence in these cases.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">During the debate on the resolution\u00a0European Member of\u00a0Parliament\u00a0Sokol (EPP)\u00a0stated:\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThese deportations of Christians in T\u00fcrkiye for reasons of national security are one more attack on Christians,\u00a0the most persecuted religious minority around the world. (\u2026) The EU cannot talk of human rights and then remain silent when Christians are facing problems in Africa or persecution in a neighboring country. We must stand up for freedom of religion everywhere without any double standards. (\u2026) T\u00fcrkiye must put a stop to these deportations of Christians.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cases\u00a0of Expelled Christians\u00a0Now Before the European Court of Human Rights<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/adfinternational.org\/news\/top-european-court-takes-up-cases-of-christians-banned-from-turkey\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">20 pending cases<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0before Europe\u2019s top human rights court\u00a0challenge\u00a0the compatibility of the security-based expulsions with\u00a0human rights\u00a0protections for religious freedom, family life, and due process under the European Convention on Human Rights.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The government\u2019s use of these codes effectively labels individuals as a \u201cthreat to public order and security,\u201d a classification normally reserved for terrorism suspects.\u00a0However, those targeted have no criminal records and no evidence of unlawful conduct\u2014the only thing that they have in common is openly practicing and sharing their Christian faith.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The 2024\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/21wilberforce.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2024-Turkey-Human-Rights-Violation-Report.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Human Rights Violation Report<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fpresented by the Protestant Church Association records 132 people who have been arbitrarily branded with an entry ban code, preventing them from entering T\u00fcrkiye solely\u00a0on the basis of\u00a0their Christian faith. The total number of those affected is 303, according to the report.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ADF International\u00a0provides legal support to\u00a0affected individuals seeking justice before the European Court of Human Rights and\u00a0calls on Turkish authorities\u00a0to ensure that security measures are applied consistently with international human rights obligations.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
