Jennifer Grace Lea

Jennifer Grace Lea serves as legal counsel, Europe, with ADF International, advocating for religious liberty, life, and the family. Lea focuses on human rights, EU, and public international law.

Jennifer Grace Lea serves as legal counsel, Europe, with ADF International, advocating for religious liberty, life, and the family. Lea focuses on human rights, EU, and public international law. She also advises on legal matters involving the United Nations, European Court of Human Rights, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, European Parliament, and related Council of Europe institutions based in Strasbourg.

Lea earned her Juris Doctor in 2011 at Marshall Wythe School of Law at William and Mary in Virginia. Prior to earning her J.D., she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (magna cum laude) from Covenant College in Georgia, followed by a dual Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Institute Catholique de Paris/American University of Paris. As a part of her M.A. program in Paris, Lea studied international human rights law and wrote her M.A. thesis on the need for comprehensive psychosocial care for refugees and internally displaced persons.

Lea is a member of the state bars of Tennessee and Virginia. Prior to joining ADF International, Lea worked as an attorney with the Department of Defense in the United States as a prosecutor and later as a defense attorney. As such, Lea handled a plethora of cases including pleas and motions, as well as judge and jury trials.

Lea grew up in sub-Saharan Africa and the south of France. She obtained her French baccalaureate in Philosophy, Literature, and Languages. She speaks fluent French and English, as well as conversational Spanish.
