European Pandemic Restrictions: Protecting Religious Freedom in Times of COVID-19

The Covid-19 (‘coronavirus’) pandemic has seen governments across Europe and the world usher in, unprecedented in peacetime, restrictions on citizens’ human rights as part of their response. Restrictions on public movement, free association and religious worship were introduced in every European state while some states suspended the operation of the European Convention on Human Rights (‘Convention’) within their jurisdictions.
