New Zealand (46th Session)

ADF International is a faith-based legal advocacy organization that protects fundamental freedoms and promotes the inherent dignity of all people. This report stresses the urgent need for the government of New Zealand to prohibit prenatal sex selection in the country. Furthermore, it details the adverse implications of New Zealand’s adoption of a self-identification process for amending one’s registered sex on their birth certificates for the dignity, safety and rights of women and girls, including to non-discrimination on the basis of sex, as well as for the right of parents or, where applicable, legal guardians insofar as the law permits children aged 16 and above to engage in the gender-self-identification process without requisite parental consent.

Statement of Faith

Based on our adherence to the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God in Scripture, we profess with the Christian Church throughout time and around the world the faith expressed in the Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
