Join us in saying « no » to the state eroding parental rights

Imagine being separated, by court order, from your teenage daughter so she can take life-altering drugs for her gender « transition »? This is happening in Switzerland right now.

Breaking News

Switzerland’s highest court has decided parents separated from their daughter for refusing to endorse her gender “transition” must enable their child’s legal “sex change” or face the possibility of criminal charges.

Backed by ADF International, the parents had appealed to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court following two lower courts ruling that they had to hand over their daughter’s identity documents so her legally recorded sex could be changed.

A further appeal to the European Court of Human Rights is being considered to protect the parents’ rights to care for their daughter without state interference.

These parents are living every parent’s worst nightmare.

A young girl expressed gender confusion just before turning 14.

Her parents sought mental health care for her, rather than following the advice of a local public hospital to put their vulnerable daughter on life-altering puberty blockers. During this time, her school began to “socially transition” her, referring to her as a boy against the wishes of her parents.

The school and the hospital have worked in conjunction with a trans-activist organization and the state child welfare agency to push for the girl’s social, legal, and, potentially, physical “transition” by way of dangerous medical interventions.

For seeking to protect their daughter from the irreversible harm that these interventions may entail, the parents have been accused of “abuse”.

They have had their daughter ripped away from them simply for trying to protect her.

Switzerland must act now to restore this child to her parents and address the egregious overstepping on the part of the school, hospital, and child welfare agency that allowed this nightmare scenario to unfold.

As parents, we would do anything to protect our children from harm. We want the best for our kids. We love them and want to raise them to be honest, kind, and self-confident adults—both our daughter and our son, each in their own way. But right now, our daughter is still a minor, and she rightfully belongs in our home where we can help her navigate through life’s struggles in a way that is best for her long-term health and happiness. I can’t believe we live in a society where your child can be taken away from you simply for trying to protect her.

FAQ

Why do we need to protect these parents’ rights?

  • In most circumstances, it is parents who love and know their children best. That is certainly the case for this family who wants what is best for their daughter.
  • At a time when the daughter needed her parents the most, Geneva cantonal youth welfare authorities cooperated to block this girl from the love and protection of her parents. No child should be separated from caring parents.
  • No parents should have to worry about their child being indoctrinated at school, especially to the point of being ripped away from them, placed in a shelter, and pushed toward dangerous medical interventions.

Why should we be concerned about this case?

Increasingly around the world we see cases and legislative proposals to nullify parental rights in the context of transgender issues. Simultaneously, many countries are moving away from trans affirmative processes and developing more critical responses to gender dysphoria. And it is increasingly impossible to ignore that science discredits trans-ideology.

If, in a modern democratic society like Switzerland, parents can lose their children to the state simply for upholding their biological reality, no one is safe. We must act now to defend the rights of parents to care of their children.

What is the role of ADF International in this case?

ADF International supports the legal defence of the parents, who are being represented by Swiss lawyer, Dr. Marc Bellon.

As international human rights experts, ADF International is committed to protecting the rights of parents and the well-being of children in accordance with both international and national law.
