Kristina Hjelkrem

LEGAL COUNSEL, LATIN AMERICA

Kristina Hjelkrem serves as legal counsel for Latin America with ADF International. The Latin America team leads advocacy efforts defending the sanctity of life, marriage, family, parental rights, and religious freedom at the Organization of American States and its many bodies, as well as providing support to regional allies across Latin America.

Before joining ADF International, Hjelkrem’s practice focused on international litigation, where she collaborated in cases involving Latin American private and public entities, and worked as an associate in two different law firms in Spain, and served as an in-house counsel in Ecuador.    

Hjelkrem earned her law degree from the University of Navarre in 2015, with a certification in Anglo-American Law. She participated in the University´s honours programme and graduated in the top ten of her class. In 2016 she obtained a double Master’s degree in Access to the Legal Profession and Corporate Law, also at the University of Navarre. Hjelkrem is admitted to practise law in Spain and is currently obtaining her law degree at the University of Hemispheres in Ecuador.
